Carder’s 20 lifts LCHS JV past Grafton

The LCHS junior varsity team picked up two out of three wins this week defeating the Richwood Lumberjacks on Saturday and using a big game from Jacob Carder on Thursday, Jan. 10 to beat the Grafton Bearcats.

Patriots Boys Drop Two to BU

The Robert L. Bland Patriots boys JV and Varsity basketball teams were in action when they faced the Buckhannon Upshur Buccaneers in middle school basketball action on January 3 at the RLBMS Gym. The JV squad would fall to the Bucs 53-35. Dylon Messenger scored 11 points for the Patriots while Keller Bennett score 7 points for Robert Bland.

Shooting Slump Costs Minutemen

The Minutemen varsity basketball team travelled to the Eastern Panhandle on Dec. 28 and 29 to compete in the Hedgesville Holiday Tournament. The team returned from the event without a victory as the went cold from the field during the tournament.

RLBMS Wrestling Ranked 15th in State

Robert L. Bland Middle School’s Trenton Bush achieved an impressive career milestone Saturday, Jan. 5, when he picked up the 100th victory of his middle school career with a victory over a wrestler from West Fairmont Middle School. Bush leads an impressive Patriot team, that has seen their star rise in recent weeks moving up to 15th in the state in a recent Middle School Coaches Poll.
