Wins, Rain and Rematch for Lady Dawgs

The Lady Dawgs swept a doubleheader in Bridgeport on April 30th.
The local players logged a 12-2 win after garnering 15 hits and playing error-free defense.
Ella Pinkney, Kaidyn Holcomb, Channing Carson, Ashley Crook, Haley Smith, Rae-Leigh Bonnett, and Hailey Marple each reached base on at least one hit. In the second game, the Lady Dawgs continued to hit well, racking up 16 runs and allowing only four runners on base for the Bridgeport team.
Strong pitching and error-free defense were key in the 16-2 win. Pitching in the doubleheader was handled by Crook and Carson.
The weather then cancelled multiple games, allowing the Lady Dawgs to face the Shockers again at the Butchersville complex.
The rematch ended in a loss for the Lady Dawgs as only four runners reached base, resulting in an 8-1 final score. Kaidyn Holcomb went 2-2 and scored the only run.
The Lady Dawgs stand at 6-2 for the season, entering tournament play this week.
