William “Rootie” Lewis Root II, 62, of Court Avenue, Weston, passed away at 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018 in the Crestview Manor Nursing Home in Jane Lew.
He was born in Clarksburg on February 10, 1956, a son of the late William Lewis Root and Betty Jo Randolph Root who resided in the Crestview Manor Nursing Home.
He is survived by one sister, Randi McKibben and husband, Michael, of Pittsburgh, PA; one niece, Ashlee Lentini, and husband, Michael, of Pittsburgh; one nephew, Tanner McKibben and wife, Lauren, of Pittsburgh, PA; four great nieces and nephews: Harper and Dillon Lentini, and Sloane and Zac McKibben; and the numerous good friends he had in Weston, who will miss him dearly.
Rootie graduated from Lewis County High School and West Virginia University, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Finance. He was employed by the West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Administration, and for the Lewis County Board of Education as a substitute teacher. He lived in Weston his whole life and was proud to be a Westonian. He enjoyed skeet shooting, riding his mountain bike with friends, and working on bikes for other people.
Rootie’s request for cremation has been honored and his family will have a private Celebration of Life Service at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be sent directly to his family c/o Randi Jo McKibben 2523 Forrest Brooke Dr. Pittsburgh, PA 15241.
