Weston Woman jailed for joyriding


A Weston woman was sentenced to served 60 days in jail for the unlawful taking of a vehicle.
Brandace A. Sellers, 32, of Circle Heights Drive, was charged with the offense by Cpl. M. Denison of the West Virginia State Police on June 18. According to Denison’s complaint, Sellers took a rental vehicle located at a residence on Circle Heights Drive near Weston without permission on or about June 3.
Sellers was also charged with petit larceny and destruction of poperty by Denison on May 21.
On July 17, Sellers appeared before Magistrate Roger D. Clem, Jr. and pleaded guilty to petit larceny and joyriding. The destruction of property charge was dismissed as part of a plea agreement upon motion by the state before Magistrate Clem.
On the petit larceny charge, she was assessed court costs of $160.25, ordered to pay the victim $555 in restitution and received a 60 day suspended jail sentence replaced with one  year of probation.
On the joyriding charge, Sellers was assessed court costs of $160.25 and was sentenced to serve 60 days in jail with credit for 39 days spent in jail prior to entering her plea.
Other recent criminal dispostions handed down in Lewis County Magistrate Court included:
Timothy C. Wiant, 19, of Charles Avenue NE, Warren, Ohio, was charged with speeding at 64 in a 55 mph zone by Tpr. F.J. Turansky, WVSP, and with no seatbelt and defective equipment by Deputy Z.M. Lopez, LCSD, also on May 28.
On July 19, under a plea agreement with the state, Wiant pleaded guilty to no seatbelt and defective equipment and the speeding charge was dismissed upon motion by the state before Magistrate Clem.
On the no seatbelt violation he was assessed a fine of $25. On the defective equipment charge he was assessed a fine of $100 and court costs of $160.25.
Zachary A. Smith, 25, of Murphy Station Road, Buckhannon, was charged with possession of a controlled substance/Methamphetamine and obstructing by Deputy J.S. VanMeter, LCSD, on Feb. 1.
On May 15, under a plea agreement with the state, Smith pleaded guilty to the possession charge and the obstructing charge was dismissed upon motion by the state before Magistrate Clem.
He was assessed court costs of $160.25 and received a suspended 90 day jail sentence replaced with home incarceration.
On July 3, he was sanctioned with seven days of jail for violating his probation. On July 10, he was sanctioned with nine days of jail for violating his probation.
Megan J. Mulloly, 21, of John Street, Weston, was charged with shoplifting, possession of a controlled substance/Methamphetamine and possesion of a controlled substance/Marijuana by Cpl. M.S. Clark, WVSP, on Dec. 12, 2017.
On July 19, under a plea ageement with the state, Mullooly pleaded guilty to possesion of meth and shoplifting and the possession of marijuana charge was dismissed upon motion by the state before Magistrate Clem.
On the possession charge she was assessed court costs of $160.25 and received a suspended 90 day jail sentence replaced with one year of probation with credit for 30 days spent in jail prior to entering her plea.
On the shoplifting charge she was assessed court costs of $160.25 and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $50 to Dollar General.
David Jarrell, 26, of U.S. Hwy 19S, Roanoke, was charged with false reporting of an emergency by  Deputy A.J. Hummel, LCSD, on July 15.
On July 18, Jarrell pleaded guilty before Magistrate Clem. He was assessed court costs of $185.25 and received a suspended 30 day jail sentence replaced with home incarceration.
Christine E. Harper, 40, of Bank Street, Weston, was charged with obstructing by Deputy J.S. VanMeter, LCSD, on July 16.
On July 18, Harper pleaded guilty before Magistrate Clem.
She was assessed court costs of $160.25 and received credit for 24 hours of incarceration as jail time.
Justin E. Robinson, 31, of Wood Street, Buckhannon, was charged with destruction of property by Deputy J.S. Tonkin, LCSD, on June 3 and with domestic battery by Deputy E.E. Carpenter, LCSD, on June 5.
On July 17, under a plea agreement with the state, Robinson pleaded guilty to domestic battery and the destruction of property charge was dismissed upon motion by the state before Magistrate Clem.
He was assessed court costs of $160.25 and received a suspended 90 day jail sentence replaced with one year of probation with credit for 30 days served in jail prior to entering his plea.
Florin G. Tarla, Jr., 22, of Old Rt. 33, Weston, was charged with domestic assault and obstructing by TFC Z.T. Cooper, WVSP, on June 24.
On July 17, under a plea agreement with the state, Tarla pleaded guilty to domestic assault and the obstructing charge was dismissed upon motion by the state before Magistrate Clem.
He was assessed court costs of $160.25 and received an 84 day suspended jail sentence replaced with one year of probation with credit for 24 days served in jail prior to entering his plea.
Charles T. Marsh, Sr., 57, of Overton Street, Weston, was charged with third offense public intoxication by Ptlm. R. Watson, WPD, on July 10.
On July 17, Marsh pleaded guilty before Magistrate Clem. He was assessed a fine of $5, court costs of $160.25 and received a 60 day suspended jail sentence replaced with home incarceration.
