Tiffini Rae Lyons, 44, went home to be with her Lord on December 19, 2017. She passed peacefully at her home near Good Hope, WV, with family nearby.
She was born December 29, 1972, in Clarksburg, WV, the first daughter of Layna Jane Jarrett and James Lee Lyons who both survive. Her sister Deanna Marie Lyons of Columbus, Ohio also survives. Tiffini also is survived by several aunts and uncles and their families: Aunt Susan James and husband Danny of Good Hope, WV; Aunt Beth Jarrett-Reaser and husband Mark of Jane Lew, WV; Uncle Larry Jarrett and wife Joyce of McWhorter, WV; Aunt Karen Dees and husband Doug of Lake Jackson, TX; Aunt Linda Neeley of Palmetto, FL; Aunt Linda Sue Bailey of Whitsett, NC; and Uncle Lewis Lyons and wife Lisa of Dunnellon, FL.
Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents Helen and Kenneth Jarrett, and paternal grandparents Betty and Neal Lyons, and cousins Candi Lee Lopez; Mari Amanda, Mari Rebecca, Larry Justin, Andrea Danielle, Xavier Layne, and Dominic William Jarrett.
Tiffini graduated from South Harrison High School in 1991, and completed over three years of college work. Her service in the Air Force included working at Central Command in Florida during the Iraq war after 9-11. Before leaving the Air Force, Tiffini rose to the rank of Staff Sargent, then she continued her service in the Air Force National Guard and the Air Force Reserves. After completing her military service, Tiffini was a designer in the home decorating business, drove for the WV Courtesy Patrol, and worked in the family excavating business.
Tiffini will be remembered for her laughter, her big, giving heart, and for always being willing to lend a helping hand. She made a tremendous sacrifice in proudly serving her Country in the United States Air Force, to protect the precious freedoms we enjoy today. Despite her petite stature, she was very proud of operating heavy equipment in the family business. She also enjoyed driving her Dodge Ram 2500 pickup, which she affectionately called “Big Un”.
Tiffini will be missed by her “fur babies”: cats Slim and Sassy Girl, and dogs Odie Bug and Hallie Bear. They brought great joy and unconditional love to her life.
Although she will be greatly missed on Earth, we believe Tiffini has been welcomed to Heaven, and her laughter and love will be in our hearts forever. She was our sunshine.
Per Tiffini’s wishes, she will be cremated with no visitation. A Celebration of Tiffini’s life will be held at a later date. Donations in her honor can be made to The American Diabetes Association at https://donations.diabetes.org/site/Donation2?df_id=18884&18884.donation=form1&loc=dorg_header-in-honor&s_src=dorg&s_subsrc=header-in-honor.
