Junior volleyball player, Seanna Stump was the only Lewis County High School (LCHS) volleyball athlete chosen for the either of the Big Ten volleyball teams this year.
Stump was awarded an honor at a tournament in Nicholas County this past volleyball season and continued to show leadership and athleticism throughout the season. She was a Freshmen when she first made it to one of the Big 10 teams.
Stump was the high point scorer on the varsity team for LCHS, scoring a total of 234 points, with 56 aces and 178 kills total this year.
Stump has played volleyball now for five year and has been on All Conference teams before, for showing her skills in the game.
Coach Julie Oldaker said in a previous interview that Stump is very hard working and works to do anything that she is asked to do.
The volleyball player of the year went to McKenzie Carpenter of Philipp Barbour(PB) and the volleyball coach of the year went to Ron Gilmore of Robert C. Byrd (RCB).
Those who made the first team were: Carpenter, Abby Wetzel-RCB, Payton Hefner-Bridgeport, Hayley Swiger- RCB, Maddi Carpenter – PB, Kristen Crowder – Bridgeport, Madison Shepherd -Buckhannon Upshur (BU), Shea Hefner- Bridgeport, Kilea Payne-PB, Sydney Maxwell-BU, Ally Hammond-Elkins and Somer Stover-East Fairmont.
Those making the second team were: Sami Wilson-Bridgeport, Jyra Casto-PB, Cassey Steen- North Marion, Kirsten Vance-Liberty, Jade Rosetti-Preston, Hannah Davis-RCB, Taylor Lowe-RCB, Stump-LC, Abby Vincent-BU, Aubrey Young-EF, Allison Rockwell-Lincoln and Samantha Price-Elkins.
