A partial human skeleton was found in a Weston home recently by the occupants residing there.
Weston City Police Chief Josh Thomas was called to the home, and the remains have been turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Charleston.
“There were skeletal remains found,” Thomas said. “They have been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and we are currently awaiting results.”
The wait could last awhile, due to a backlog in the Medical Examiner’s Office. Thomas said they do not know the age of the skeleton, or if it was male or female. He added he and his staff are in limbo right now as they wait for identification.
New information will be reported as it becomes available.
