Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital (SJMH) has been awarded an “A” grade in patient safety for Fall 2017 according to a press release from Mon Health.
The rating is given by The Leapfrog Group which is a national non-profit healthcare ratings organization.
The group assigns letter grades to hospitals based upon their performance in preventing medical errors, infections, and other harms.
SJMH is one of two members of the Mon Health Network to receive an “A” grade, with the other being Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown.
“Receiving this recognition not only emphasizes how seriously Mon Health takes patient safety, but also the dedication of the staff to keeping patient safety a priority,” stated Mon Health President and CEO Darryl Duncan in a press release.
“Our team strives to continually provide an extraordinary patient experience, compassionate care and clinical excellence.”
The Leapfrog Group uses 27 publicly available hospital safety data points to assign letter grades to over 2,600 hospitals twice yearly.
