Some area youngsters were able to enlist the aid of local law enforcement to grab some early Christmas gifts on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at Lewis County’s Shop With an Officer event.
The event was hosted by Weston Walmart, a fact that Store Manager John Smith called an honor. The purpose of the event was to allow kids to interact with officers in a positive way, and allow them to come home with a fun item of their choosing.
“The Shop with a Cop program is an awesome experience that officers are privileged enough to be a part of. We are very blessed to have gracious donors in our community that help bring happiness to children during the Christmas season,” said Lewis County Sheriff Adam Gissy, noting that the event was funding entirely by community donations.
