Rotary Christmas party for children a success

The Annual Rotary Christmas Party for Children, was held last Wednesday, at West Hall, in Weston.
Every year, each elementary teacher throughout the Lewis County elementary school district chooses one child in their class who will get to attend this party.
The children are greeted by Rotary members, and while the children wait on their Christmas dinner to be served they color, with Interact members from Lewis County High School. This year 18 of the over 30 Interact members, helped at the Christmas party.
Debbie Clem, Rotary president welcomed everyone to the party, including the school staff members that attended with the children, school bus driver, Lewis County Board of Education members and the Rotary members.
Giovanni’s Restaurant catered the event, and the Interact members served the plates of food containing, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing and green beans.
Interact member Abby Conrad, led the group in song, then once the crowd sang “Here Comes Santa Claus”, Santa came through the door, saying “hello” to all the children.
Santa then sat down, got out his naughty and nice list and called each child’s name and gave them a Christmas present.
The Weston Rotary club is always looking for dedicated members and meets every Wednesday, at Giovanni’s at noon.
