RLBMS JV Boys Defeated by Bridgeport


Last Tuesday evening, the JV Patriot Basketball team faced Bridgeport Middle in a matchup that left the Patriot’s with a loss.
At the start of the game Bridgeport came out of the gate scoring the first 11 points. The Patriots had trouble keeping possession of the ball, with multiple turnovers early in the game, with inaccurate passing.
No. 13 Tanner Griffith was the first to get the Patriots on the scoreboard faking out a Bridgeport player and making a layup shot, bringing the score to 2-11. Bridgeport however, matched those points immediately after.
No. 3 Zach Woody, was fouled during play and earned two foul shots which he then swished into the hoop, bringing the score to 4-13. Bridgeport then added a three-pointer.
No. 25 Caleb Moore, then made a two-point shot with an assist from Woody.
During the second quarter, Bridgeport came out with three two-point shots quickly, however Moore was fouled and given two foul shots, which he made both of.
This was followed by Griffith making a two-point shot, bringing the score to 10-28.
Bridgeport then took a run gaining eight points, but Braydon Parker, No. 33, got in on shooting and earned the team two points, then was matched by Bridgeport, making the score at the half 12-39.
Bridgeport was first to get on the board in the third quarter with two baskets.
Griffith made one foul shot adding to the Patriot score, bringing it to 13-43. Griffith managed another foul shot later in the quarter and a two-point shot, while Luke Davisson, No. 24, got in on scoring with a two-point shot. Bringing the score at the quarter to 16-54.
In the last quarter of play Bridgeport hit the court just as hard as before, however No. 10 Zach James placed the ball into the basket two consecutive times, followed by Parker and Woody adding one two-pointer a piece, ending the game at 24-61 in favor of Bridgeport.
