RLBMS earns 4th place at competition

Over the weekend the Robert L. Bland Middle School cheerleading squad traveled to Institute, WV, to compete in the Dunbar Winter Cheer Extravaganza.
The squad walked away with fourth place in three-minute floor routines, while Patriot cheerleader Ali Griffith took home second place in the 7th grade individual jumps competition.
Prior to the competition the Patriot cheerleaders performed at a boys’ basketball game at home against Mountaineer Middle, on Thursday, to warm up for the competition.
Over the next couple weeks, the girls will put in extra practices and performances before topping off their long season with back-to-back performances, for four weeks consecutively, according to cheer coach Erin Freeman.
