Responders Investigate Multiple Accidents

The Weston Fire Department and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accident on Interstate 79 North near the 93 mile marker on Thursday morning, July 27.
A single vehicle had struck the median strip and no injuries were reported.
The Walkersville Volunteer Fire Department, Lewis County Emergency Ambulance Services, and officers from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 19 South on Thursday morning July 27.
The vehicle was traveling south on Route 19 when it struck and went over the guardrail and ended up on its top in a creek.
A passenger in the vehicle approached the Weston Democrat on scene and stated the driver had swerved to avoid and deer in the roadway. The passengers claim is unconfirmed No injuries were reported.
The Weston Fire Department, Walkersville Volunteer Fire Department, Lewis County Emergency Ambulance Services, and Lewis County Sheriff’s Department responded at approximately 3 p.m., Thursday July 27, to a tractor trailer jackknife and subsequent collision at the 85 mile marker on I-79 South. The victims required no medical attention.
At approximately 6 p.m., Thursday, the Weston Fire Department, Lewis County Emergency Ambulance Services, and the Weston City Police responded to a single vehicle accident at the 99 mile marker on I-79 North.
Two people were transported to Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital (SJMH) with minor injuries.
On Saturday night, Weston Fire Department assisted by Walkersville Volunteer Fire Department, Lewis County Emergency Ambulance Services, and law enforcement officers responded to a single vehicle rollover with entrapment near the 90 mile maker on I-79 South. Four people were transported to SJMH, all with minor injuries.
Jane Lew Fire Department assisted the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday Aug. 1, with a vehicle in Hackers Creek off of Hackers Creek Road.
The owner of the vehicle had parked at Superior Car Wash and through unclear circumstances the vehicle ended up in the creek.
Weston Fire Department, along with Lewis County Emergency Ambulance Services, and the Weston City Police responded to a two vehicle rear-end type accident on U.S. Highway 33 West on Tuesday morning Aug. 1. One person was transported to SJMH with minor injuries.
