Regional Track Meet hosted at LCHS

Last Wednesday, the Lewis County Athletic Complex was the sight of the 2018 Region II AA track meet that qualified athletes from across the region to move on to the state competition this Friday and Saturday in Charleston.
Lewis County High School’s boys team took fifth place with 50 points, while the girls team took sixth place with 33 points.
Senior Adam Cutlip flew through the 100-meter dash in 11.15 seconds with Adin Post taking fifth place with a time of 12.02, the two Lewis Countians earned 12 points for the boys team in this race.
Cutlip also crushed the competition in the 200-meter dash in 22.38 seconds stacking on another 10 points.
Senior Avery Post took fourth place in the 400-meter dash adding four points with a time of 53.90 seconds.
Sixth place was won by Senior Jared Hefner in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:10.16 adding another point to Lewis’ score.
LCHS took fourth place in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 46.71 seconds garnering four points with runners Adin Post, Chase Beam, Cody White, and Joseph Rubio.
Lewis also took fourth again in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:39.50 tacking on another four points with runners Adin Post, Cameron Lattea, Beam, and White.
The Minutemen took sixth in the 4x400-meter relay with runners White, Seth Carpenter, Avery Post, and Asa Post earning one point with a time of 3:52.01.
Lewis County took fifth place in the 4x800-meter relay earning two points with a time of 9:29.95 with runners Sam Carpenter, Owen Spangler, Asa Post, and Isaac McCormick.
LCHS took sixth place earning one point in the 4x110-meter shuttle hurdles with a time of 1:05.66 with hurdlers Logan Cogar, Spangler, Hefner, and Rubio.
Cogar took second place in the high jump with a height of 5-10.00 earning eight points.
Rubio took sixth place earning one point in the long jump with a distance of 18-10.00.
Senior Nick Gould took fifth place in the discus throw with a distance of 122-00.50 earning two points.
For the girls’, Olivia Krinov placed fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.05 earning four ponts.
Senior Emily Louk placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:28.56 and second in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:25.67, earning 16 points in the events.
Senior Sarah Post placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.99 and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.66 earning six points in the two events.
LCHS took sixth in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 54.98 seconds tacking on another point with runners Sarah Post, Sarah Flesher, Krinov, and Mackenzie Hendricks.
Lewis took fifth in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:55.98 earning two points with runners Sarah Post, Flesher, Hendricks, and Krinov.
Fourth place was awarded to LCHS in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:34.58 earning four points with runners Louk, Flesher, Abigail Oldaer, and Hendricks.
