A funeral service celebrating the life of Nettie Jane McCoy, age 91, of St. Louisville, was held on Monday, October 15, at 11 a.m., at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Chaplain Daniel Fullen officiating. Burial followed at Wilson Cemetery.
Nettie passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was born May 12, 1927, in Weston, West Virginia to the late William C. and Marnie E. (Taylor) Sims.
Nettie loved reading, spending time with her family and working outside in her flower and vegetable garden. She also enjoyed bird watching and was a wonderful baker, creating delicious homemade bread for her family.
She is survived by five sons, Arnold McCoy, Spencer (Lou Anna) McCoy, John “Ermin” (Kathy) McCoy, Ralph McCoy and Herbert (Deb) McCoy; two daughters, June (Rick) Lawrence and May McCoy; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-five years, Harold Lyndon McCoy (1978), whom she married on December 31, 1943; a daughter, April Elizabeth Bowser; a son, James Eden McCoy; two daughters-in-law, Carol Ann McCoy and Sandra Ross; a son-in-law, Daniel “Dink” Bowser; a grandson, Joshua Eden McCoy; a brother, Herbert Blaine Fox; and sister-in-law Janie Fox.
