Get those loose coins ready for the West Virginia Strawberry Festival Junior Royalty Parade on Thursday.
The Weston Friends of Ferals and Strays has teamed up with the organizers of the proposed Buckhannon Dog Park in a joint effort to raise funds to support both causes.
With the help of Scooby Doo and the Mystery Machine, representatives of both groups will participate in the Junior Royalty Parade at the West Virginia Strawberry Festival, in Buckhannon, starting at 6:30 p.m., Thursday.
Volunteers of both efforts will bring buckets to collect donations from parade spectators and are asking everyone to give what they can. The donations collected will be divided up by both organizations.
According to the Weston Friends of Ferals and Strays Facebook page, Scooby might even stay after the parade to take pictures with kids.
Weston Friends of Ferals and Strays is an organization geared toward controlling feral cat populations.
The proposed Buckhannon Dog Park is a volunteer effort aimed at providing a local place in Upshur County for dog owners to take their furry friends to roam.
