Minutemen 1-1 during past week of play


The Lewis County Minutemen basketball team was 1-1 during the last week of play as the regular season is coming to a close. The Minutemen were on the road on Feb. 12, when they took on the North Marion Huskies. North Marion outscored Lewis County 19-8 in the first quarter to take the early lead.
The Minutemen cut the lead to one point at the half when they outscored the Huskies 22-12 in the second quarter to make the halftime score 31-30. North Marion then took charge in the second half and went on to claim a 74-60 win over Lewis County. Shawn Moran’s 13 points, Bradley Smith’s 12 points, Levi Brow’s 12 points and Luke White’s 11 points paced the Minutemen
Lewis County was at home on Feb. 15, when they hosted the Herbert Hoover Huskies. In a close but low-scoring first half, the Minutemen were in the lead at 19-11.
The Minutemen outscored the Huskies in the second half 42-34 to claim a 61-45 win to move their season record to 7-13 on the season. Cody Sellback’s 19 points, Shawn Moran’s 16 points and Bradley Smith led the Lewis County scoring attack. The Minutemen close out the regular season today when they host Riverside High School.
