Michael “Mike” Edward Arbogast


Michael “Mike” Edward Arbogast, 69, of Loveberry Run Rd. in Weston passed away at 11:05 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018, at his brother’s home following complications from cancer.
He was born in Weston on March 17, 1948, a son of the late Ted Glen Arbogast and Geneva Mae Wooddell Arbogast.
He is survived by two children: Michael and Shawn Arbogast of Greeneville, TN; five grandchildren: Michael, Shannon, Dolan, Deanna, and Victoria; two great grandchildren: Paisley and Allie; three siblings: Mark Arbogast and wife, Dodie, of Jane Lew, Ron Arbogast of Honolulu, Hawaii, Coni Gallucci and husband, Joe of Sarasota, FL, and Angie Premo Hanson and husband, Bill, of Washington, DC; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; and his best friend, loyal travel companion, and beloved dog, Sec.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Shannon Arbogast; and a sister, Jennifer Harris.
Mike was a 1966 graduate of Lewis County High School where he was a member of  both the wrestling and football team. He graduated from the Trade School at New Port News Virginia Ship Building as a shipwright, and he played football for them as a defensive safety.
Mike was employed in various aspects of construction most of his life, often working as an equipment operator. In his free time he enjoyed deer hunting, ginsenging, and working on his dozer. He was a stern yet very gentle man with a heart of gold. He will be missed by his family, his friends in the Copley-Loveberry area, and his dog who was always by his side.
