Mary Catherine Taylor, 88, of Crooked Fork Rd. Weston passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018 in the comfort of her home with family by her side, having been in the compassionate care of WV Hospice.
She was born in Lewis County on September 12, 1929 a daughter of the late Frank Brockleman and Mary Jane Metz Brockleman.
On February 5, 1947 she married William “Bill” Jacob Taylor and they celebrated 46 years of marriage before his passing on September 17, 1993.
Her funny, hard-working nature will be carried on by her four children: William Larry Taylor and wife, Susan, John Michael Taylor, David Edwin Taylor and wife, Regina, and Shirley Kay Moore and companion, Randy Roby, all of Weston; nine grandchildren: Roy J. Moore and wife, Pam, of Weston, William M. Moore and wife, Crissy, of Buckhannon, Kimberly D. Casada and husband, Jason, of SC, Lori Ann Martin and husband, Travis, of Philippi, Kelly C. Montgomery of OH, Heather D. Montgomery of Weston, David Z. Taylor of Weston, and Jamie M. Taylor of Weston; 26 great grandchildren including Jasmine Rowh, and Jonathan Waggy whom she raised; three great great grandchildren; one brother, James V. Brockleman of Weston; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: John and Donnie Brockleman; one great granddaughter, Peyton Casada; and her beloved Jack Russell, Sky, who was waiting to be reunited with her at the Rainbow Bridge.
While living in OH, Catherine worked as a nurse’s aide for Portage City Nursing Home, Jane Francis Nursing Home and Robinson Memorial Hospital before moving back to WV where she worked for the Weston City Hospital then for Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital where she retired with 17+ years of service. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family and spending quality time with her grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 11 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Father Joseph McLaughlin as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery in Loveberry.
