Man Arrested on Drug Dealing Allegations

In the early afternoon hours on June 1, 2017, deputies effected an arrest warrant on Jerry Lee Stewart Jr., near McCanns Run Road, in Jane Lew.
Stewart had drug associated warrants for Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and Clonazepam.
At the time of the arrest, Stewart was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine, Marijuana, Oxycodone, .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol, currency and digital scales, along with packaging material.
As a supplement to his initial charges; Stewart is being charged for possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, the possession of marijuana and possession of oxycodone as result of this encounter.
“Jerry Stewart has been a significant player in the meth distribution trade for the past several months,” Sheriff Adam Gissy said last week. “Today’s arrest will put quite the damper on meth dispersal for a number of communities.”
Stewart’s bond is set at $75,000 property/surety. He must self report to Lewis County Community Corrections and submit to random drug and alcohol screens with full participation in the program.
He is not permitted to leave the state. His pre-liminary hearing is scheduled for today, at
1:45 p.m.
