The Lewis County High Maids’ soccer team faced Robert C. Byrd at Regionals held at Philipp Barbour High, last Thursday, finishing for the 2017 soccer season.
Although the Maids lost 0-3, they played a tough game against RCB, for advancement in the tournament.
LCHS won the kick-off at the start, which led to MaKenzie Hendricks taking an early shot on goal, that sailed just beyond reach of the net.
Halfway through the first half of play RCB scored their first goal of the night, taking the score to 0-1.
With two minutes left in play, Lewis County had another attempt at a goal, which nearly went in. MiKayla Lattea took a corner kick for the maids, which then was headed toward the goal by Olivia Krinov. The ball brushed off the keepers’ fingertips and was saved from entering in though.
