Over the long holiday away from school, Lewis County High wrestlers were still at the gym, for the Landmark Forestry Duals held at LCHS on Thursday, Dec. 28.
Lewis wrestlers were able to seek out victories against Notre Dame (30-13), Robert C. Byrd (34-6) and Cameron (38-12).
Lewis was defeated by the first team they went against being Clay County (36-24).
Overall the Lewis wrestlers performed well at the dual however, Bridgeport High School took home the victory having defeated Lincoln, Huntington, Nicholas and Clay.
Wrestling for Lewis at the Duals were Hunter Mitchell, Daimon Wilson, Charles Simms, Ryan Metzgar, Dylan Lawson, Austin Thomason, Joseph Blake and Will Kuhn.
Simms and Mitchell both secured wins against Notre Dame with pins. While in the RCB matchups Wilson won his match by points and Simms once again pinned his opponent.
The Lewis County wrestling team will be back-in-action beginning Friday, Jan. 12, at the Fairmont Winners Choice meet.
