A Lewis County music teacher will join five other bandleaders as a headliner for   the upcoming Holiday Jazz Stroll in Clarksburg on Dec. 8, with a special “last set jam” to conclude the annual event, according to the event planners with the West Virginia Jazz Society (WVJS).
Adam Loudin, a Lewis County Teacher of the Year at Robert L. Bland Middle School in Weston, will lead The Cool Cats, the WVJS “house band” as they play two sets of music beginning in Washington Square, at 9 p.m., and continuing until midnight.
Other members of the Cool Cats are Seth Maynard on vocals and guitar, Kyle Andrews on drums, Chris McGraw on bass, and Chad Williams, subbing on sax for regular Cats saxophonist, Rich Norwood.
The second set for Adam Loudin & The Cool Cats will begin at 10:30 p.m. and will be the last show of the Holiday Jazz Stroll event, one of six shows set to appear in five different venues in uptown Clarksburg’s business district.
All performances are free of charge and begin at 5 p.m., with a Pre-Stroll Reception and Open House at Waldomore Mansion and an early set at 5:15 p.m., by The Funky Fly Project in My Mother’s Daughter.
Additional performances begin at 6:30 p.m. in Parker’s 4th Street with The Panacea, in Kelly’s Irish Pub with the House of Blues Band from Myrtle Beach, in Washington Square with the Lars Swanson Quartet, and in Fifth Floor with Veronneau, a world jazz band from Washington, D.C.
According to Rose Ann Policano, a WVJS board member, Loudin has been on the “short list” of performers sought for the Jazz Stroll lineup.
“We have worked with Adam in the past and it has always been a great experience,” explained Policano.  “And when we proposed to the Cool Cats that Adam lead the band for the Stroll, everyone agreed enthusiastically.”
Washington Square is a family-friendly music venue that operates as a pizzeria on non-music nights.  A full menu will be available throughout the evening’s performances.  For reservations for Loudin’s performance at Washington Square, phone 304-622-7100.
