Lewis County Pee Wee Football Team 3-0 after 37-0 win over Lincoln


The Lewis County Minutemen Pee Wee football team traveled to Lincoln on Sunday, Sept. 9 to take on the Lincoln Cougar Cubs in a Mountaineer Youth Football Game. 

The Minutemen were looking for their third win in as many starts. Lewis County unleashed a potent ground game and stingy defense in handing the Cougars a 37-0 loss to move to 3-0 on the season. 

The Minutemen gained 360 yards on the ground, with Quinten Hilliard gaining 222 yards on 10 carries and four touchdowns. Hilliard scored on runs of 7 yards, 67 yards; 55 yards and 50 yards. Jesse Kemper had 89 yards and a touchdown. 

The Minutemen held the Cubs scoreless throughout the game,  with Hilliard being the leading tackler with 6, while Trevor Padgett had 4 tackles. 

The Minutemen will return to action on Sept. 15 at 5 p.m., at the Robert L. Bland Athletic Field against Summersville.
