The Lewis County Minutemen midget football came into Saturday’s home contest with Bridgeport with an undefeated record and had yet to be scored on the 2018 season.
Those two things would both come to an end as Bridgeport Red would score in every quarter to hand Lewis County a 34-0 loss as the Minutemen record fell to 4-1 on the season.
Lewis County gained 109 yards in total offense with 70 yards rushing and 39 yard passing. Drew Cayton ran for 74 yards and Bryant Zielinski passed for 39 yards while Manny Robinson had 1 catch for 28 yards until he left the game with an injury.
Lewis County will be back at home on Saturday, Oct. 6, when they host South Harrison at 7 p.m., at the Robert L. Bland Middle School Athletic Field when they will look to get back in the win column.
