LCHS Volleyball Serves it to Grafton

Last Tuesday, Lewis County JV and Varsity teams took on the Grafton Bearcats, landing both teams, a win, by a significant margin.
The Varsity squad managed to sink in three straight match wins, beating Grafton 25-9, 25-18, then ending the third match 25-12.
The JV team had just as much success, although they lost the first match, 21-25, they regained their strength winning the next two matches 25-12 and 25-10.

Lewis’ Volleyball team also managed to place 7th in the Nicholas County Tournament last week out of 14 teams. Lewis advanced to the second phase of the competition after doing well in the first phase.
In the first phase of the tournament, Lewis went up against Doddridge winning 25-16 and 25-15, Fayette losing 23-25 and winning 25-17, Liberty Raleigh losing 10-25 and winning 25-21, and finally losing to Nicholas 14-25 and 10-25.
With Lewis’ scored they managed to make the second phase of the tournament losing to Independence 10-25 and 11-25, gaining them 7th place.
