The nineteenth annual Lewis County High School Senior Sermon baccalaureate service will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 7 p.m., in the Lewis County High School auditorium.
You will not want to miss this year’s event featuring our very own senior student, Ian Young, who resides in Weston with his family, parents Tom and Elizabeth Young and sister, Amanda Young.
The theme for the evening’s message to graduating seniors and their family and friends will be “This is your life; live it well!”
Young’s plans for the future include attending West Virginia University in the fall and majoring in finance.
When asked why he wanted to speak at this year’s event, Ian responded, “I chose to do the Senior Sermon because there are only so many opportunities you get to share your faith with your friends and peers effectively. So I had to take this opportunity.”
Special music will be performed by the LCHS Choir, LC Blue Grass Band, and LCHS students Emily Kraus, Madison Bolyard, Rachel Hall, and Eva Atha. Members of The Gideons International will provide free New Testaments at the end of the sermon for all seniors and anyone else who wishes to have one.
Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend this year’s sermon. The event is open to the graduating class of 2017, their families, and the community as a whole.
Please feel free to help us spread the word and invite as many as you would like to come be a part of this special event.
You will not want to miss a powerful evening of faith, inspiration, and spirit-filled music as we help our graduating seniors remember that “This is your life; live it well!”
LCHS Youth Alive! Club and the Class of 2017 will be hosting this year’s Senior Sermon.
A reception of light refreshments will be provided in the cafeteria by the Church of the Nazarene of Lewis County immediately following the baccalaureate ceremony.
