The Lewis County High School Tennis team is speeding up, with the weather finally cooperating and matches being rescheduled, they had several matches this week, and even more projected for the following week.
They played away at both Bridgeport and Elkins this week, losing in both girls and boys overall, but winning several individual matches.
Moorefield traveled to Lewis County this past Saturday, defeating the girl’s tennis team, but then being beaten by the boys team 6-1, the single win being decided via tiebreaker.
“We are a very young team, and after playing very high and low recently, are trying to
re-merge the heart and talent needed to play as well as we are truly able. We are working hard and I am confident a stronger team is emerging,” Head Coach Shannon Thomas said about how the season is going.
