Larry Leroy Lowe, 76, of Rock Run Rd. Weston passed away at 10:42 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017, in the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston following an extended illness.
He was born in West Union on July 15, 1946, a son of the late Alvin Leroy Lowe and Rosa Irene Shepherd Lowe.
On April 26, 2003, he married Sharon Jeannettee Muncey Lowe, who will miss him dearly after 13 years of marriage, and she now resides at the Glenville Center.
He is also survived by five siblings: his twin, Gary Lowe of Central Station, WV, Jeff and Donald Lowe of Doddridge County, Anita Lowe, and Donna Lee Lowe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gale Michael Lowe.
Larry was an honored veteran of the United States Army having served during Vietnam. He graduated from Webster University in Webster Springs, MO with a Masters Degree in Business Administration, then worked as a police officer in Columbia, SC for several years before returning to the Army, then retired as a result of a job-related injury. In his free time, he continued to sharpen his marksmanship skills through regular target practice drills. He loved studying history and continuing to learn whenever possible.
Friends and family will gather at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Weston for a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, with Reverend James R. DeViese as celebrant. Interment will follow in the WV National Cemetery. Full military honors will be accorded by the United States Army and the Lewis County Honor Guard.
