Larry Gale James, 68, of Frametown, WV, passed away at 12:08 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, in the VA Hospital in Clarksburg.
He was born in Braxton County on October 30, 1949, a son of the late Jesse Perry James and Claire Friend.
On March 12, 1988, he married Patricia Ann Murphy who will miss him dearly and treasure the 30 wonderful years they shared together.
Larry is survived by two daughters: Christina Gagan and husband, Christopher, of VA, and Michelle James of FL; one step daughter, Tracy Miller and husband, Timothy, of Frametown; one grandson Hunter Gagan of FL; two step grandchildren: Josh Miller and wife, Nicole, of Frametown, and Brandi Miller of Morgantown; two step great grandchildren: Kinzley Buchannon and Ryan Miller both of Frametown; five siblings: Vernon James of Teays Valley, WV, Vaughan James of Frametown, WV, Carol James of Crosslanes, WV, Mary Cogar and husband, John, of Fairmont, WV, and Steven James of Elkview, WV; several nieces and nephews; and one loyal companion and beloved cocka-poo, Misty.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by one sibling, Melvin James.
He graduated from Braxton County High School in 1967. Larry then worked as a bricklayer and performed construction on bridges, and making cabinets. He retired from Bicon as a welder due to medical issues. He enjoyed flying ultra light airplanes and anything about aviation. His hobbies included woodworking and hunting.
Larry’s wishes for cremation have been honored and a private remembrance of his life will be held at a later date.
