The Lady Patriots volleyball team was at home Tuesday, Oct. 2, taking on East Fairmont. The JV girls won a thriller 25-12, 22-25 and 25-20. Haylee Lewis scored 8 points followed by Leah Watson with 8 points. Destiny Sizemore scored 6 points with 4 aces.
“We served the ball very well and are improving with every game,” said Coach Glen Pratt of the teams continued performance.
The Varsity squad would take a hard fought 25-21 and 25-20 win over a very feisty East squad. Courtney Hartley scored 10 points with 3 aces and a block. Elleonna Stump score 7 points with 2 aces and 3 kills.
“Fairmont East is a very nice squad that is well coached,” stated Coach Pratt. It was a great win for us.”
The Lady Patriots were at home again on Thursday, Oct. 4 taking on an improving Taylor County team. The JV squad would come out strong and win 25-15 and 25-14. Leah Watson was on fire as she had 10 points with 7 aces. Haylee Lewis added 5 points with 4 aces.
“We played everyone and gained a lot of game experience,” said Coach Pratt.
The Varsity squad would come out in the zone and roll to a 25- 4 and 24-12 win. Emma Hoskins would have a game of games as she scored 23 points with 7 aces. Chloe Richards would add 12 points with 7 aces and 2 kills.
“Emma scored more points in a game than I have ever had, “ stated a joyous Coach Pratt. “She took control of the first match. We are playing outstanding team ball right now and I am so proud of all of the Lady Patriots. It was a great week of Lady Patriots volleyball,” Pratt added.
