Kathryn Jean Bell

Kathryn Jean Bell, 83, of Glenville, passed away at 2:38 a.m., on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born in Grantsville on December 19, 1933, a daughter of the late William Arthur Mahaney Jr. and Mabel Belle McCartney Mahaney.
On August 19, 1954, she married Kenton Warren Bell and they celebrated 58 years of marriage before his passing on July 5, 2013.
Her witty, loving nature will be carried on by her brother, James Howard Mahaney and wife, Carolyn, of Milford, OH; eight nieces and nephews: Phil Metz and wife, Karen, of Perry, OH, Pamela Conway of Jupiter, FL, James Mahaney Jr, and wife, Tracy, of Cincinnati, OH, Richard Mahaney of Oxford, OH, Jennifer Van Roekel and husband, Tim, of Loveland, OH, Andy Nicholas of Sand Fork, Eric Nicholas and wife, Angie, of Cox Mill, and Robert “Chip” Nicholas and wife, Debbie, of Glenville; sister-in-law, Eleanor Nicholas; and her beloved dog, Rosie.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Mahaney; one sister, Samira Mahaney Metz; and one nephew, Gregory Metz.
Kathryn was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed knitting, playing bridge, feeding the hummingbirds, and watching Nebraska football. She was a 1951 graduate of Tanner High School and remained active with the Tanner High School Alumni Association, as well as the Gilmer County Senior Center.
Kathryn’s request for cremation has been honored. Friends and family will gather for a graveside service at Stalnaker Cemetery in Glenville, at 2 p.m., on Saturday, June 10, 2017, with Reverend John Vannoy officiating.
