On Sunday, June 4, 2017, Joseph “Joey” Brent Lough, left this earth plane for a more rockin’ gig in Heaven. Although he was only 31 years of age, this adventurous free-spirit had packed in a lot of fun and experience in a relatively short period of time.
On May 15, 1986, he blessed this earth and the lives of his proud parents, Charles William “Bill” Lough and Mary Louise Delgado Lough of Weston, who are facing the sad reality of losing their youngest child who was just a sweet little boy playing on toy drums . . . just yesterday, it seems.
Even though his absence will leave a void in the lives of his loving family, that void will now be filled with countless memories of his ornery antics, witty persuasiveness, and charismatic charm. He will be deeply missed by his two siblings: Charles William Lough Jr. and wife Casey, of Roanoke and Krista Noel Hardman of Charleston; four nieces and nephews: Bailey, Emilie, and Eva Lough, and Noah Hardman; and his four-legged, fur baby companions: Toki, Chica, and Gracie.
You may have known him as Junkle Oey, Dave Blood, Goochland Prairie, Biff Debris, Joe Danj, Joe, or Joey, but by any name, you knew that he marched to the beat of his own drum. After graduating from Lewis County High School, he attended WVU then Glenville State College, where he was invited to play in the percussion ensemble. Music flowed through his veins and fed his soul. This tattoo enthusiast performed as a talented percussionist in several bands over the years, and was attracted to music festivals and concerts, like a moth to a flame where he met kindred souls. In addition to music, his love of nature and animals also helped ground him and nurture his spiritual sense of being. All who knew him will agree on one thing – Heads Up Lord, cuz Joe Danj is IN the house!
