Joretta June Parmer, 66, of Arch St. Weston passed away at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2017 in the comfort of her home, with family by her side, in the compassionate care of People’s Hospice.
She was born in Nicholas County on October 20, 1950 a daughter of the late Ottie Washington Moore Jr. and Sybil Norma Barnette Moore.
On December 9, 1989 she married Luther Dale Parmer Sr. and they celebrated 27 years of marriage before his passing on January 7, 2017.
Her caring, giving nature will be carried on by her seven children: Joyce Lynette Parmer of Ireland, Anissa Dale Parmer Foster and husband, Max, of Weston, Luther Dale Parmer Jr. “Kip”, of Weston, Jody Michelle Moore of Jane Lew, Jamie Lynn Oldaker and wife, Ashley, of Fort Benning, GA, Melanie Dawn Allen and husband Alvie, of Weston, and Samuel Joseph Oldaker III and wife, Dawn, of Weston; 15 grandchildren: Larissa Jackson, Promise Moore, Terrance “TJ” Moore, Anna, Kaydence, and Zoie Parmer, Izzabella Allen, Abigail and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Oldaker, Olivia Robinson, Logan, Rian, and Ashlynn Oldaker, and Kayla and Cameron Oldaker; one great grandchild, Olivia Grace Bennett; eight siblings: David Moore and wife, Felica, of Charleston, SC, Michael Moore and wife, Jennifer, of Weston, Eddie Moore and wife, April, of Weston, Jerry Moore and wife, Sharmalee, of Weston, Glen Moore and wife, Sherri, of Weston, Patty Paugh and husband, Steve, of Weston, Susan Parmer and husband, Russell “Buck”, of Weston, and Anna Lough and husband, Travis, of Buckhannon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she will be reunited in Heaven with three siblings: Ottie, Terry, and Bruce Moore.
Joretta worked as a cook for F&M Lunch, Corner Café, and Kathy’s Riverside Restaurant. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.
Friends and family will gather at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday from the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chad Metz officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
