Jackie Curtis Robinson


Jackie Curtis Robinson, 62, of Alum Bridge passed away at 5:40 p.m., on Thursday, April 27, 2017, in the Crestview Manor Nursing Home in Jane Lew.
He was born in Lewis County on July 30, 1954, a son of the late Roy Curtis Robinson and Glenna Joanne Linger Robinson.
On June 23, 1990, he married Karen Joyce Bowers who will miss him dearly after 26 years of marriage.
His honest, hard working nature will be carried on by his four children: Glenda Robinson of Weston, Greg Springston of Spencer, Joy Mick of Weston, and Cailin Robinson of Weston; 10 grandchildren: Lauren and Logan Lawson, Brionna Springston, Hunter Holliday, Guage Cayton, Peyton, Brycen, and Braylen Springston, and Jacob and Josie Mick; seven siblings: Daniel Robinson, and Randall, Melissa, Sheri, and Tamela Starcher, all of Weston, and Connie and Bonnie Robinson of Akron, OH; stepmother, Mae Robinson of Akron, OH; several nieces and nephews; Army buddy, Jose Calvillo of Santa Barbara, CA; best friend, Jeff Elza; and his loyal companion and beloved labrador, Duke.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Lisa Starcher and Belinda Robinson.
Jackie was an honored veteran of the United States Army, having served in Korea at the end of the Vietnam Era. After retiring from Wm. R. Sharpe Jr. Hospital with 25 years of service as a health service worker, Jackie went to work for Godwin Pumps where he enjoyed working as a pump operator for three years. Jackie loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and riding ATVs. He was also an avid reader who enjoyed woodworking, especially crafting canes.
Jackie’s request for cremation has been honored and friends and family gathered at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service, at 144 Hackers Creek Rd., in Jane Lew, from 12-1 p.m., on Sunday, April 30, 2017. A Celebration of Life Service followed, at 1 p.m., at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the United States Army and the Lewis County Honor Guard.
