Howard Gay Bennington, 79, of Camden passed away at 4:35 p.m., on Thursday, July 13, 2017, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following an extended illness.
He was born in Lewis County on February 11, 1938, a son of the late William Lawrence Bennington and Mary Elizabeth Parmer Bennington.
On March 31, 2001, following an eight-year courtship, he married June Marie Williams, who will miss him dearly after 16 years of marriage.
He is also survived by five children: Vickie Reed of TX, Brenda Houk of Marietta, OH, Kristy Wilson and husband, Bub, of Burnsville, Bridgett Williams of Copley, and Lindsey Bennington of Camden; one stepdaughter, Ginger Williams of Jane Lew; seven grandchildren; one step grandchild; several great grandchildren; two siblings: Lawrence Bennington of Weston, and Eugene Bennington of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets: Lion, Tinkerbell, BooBoo, and Nyx.
Howard was a logger, glass worker, mechanic, junk collector, tinkerer, gardener and cowboy, at heart. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and his pets.
