The theme for Lewis County High School’s Homecoming this year was “Light Up the Eagles.” The Junior class won tSpirit Week activities, including the banner display and the parade float.
Daily events at the school for Spirit Week included a Boot Lacing competition, Donuts on a String, Egg Toss, Wing Eating, and Gum Finding. Dress up themes included ‘Merica Monday, Tie-dye Tuesday, Wild West Wednesday, Theatrical Thursday, and Fired Up Friday.
Parade Marshalls this year were County Clerk Cynthia Rowan and County Administrator Cindy Whetsell.
Teacher Marc Smith said roughly 80 percent of students in each grade participated in the daily dress up themes, and 500 students attended the Homecoming Dance this year. Haley Hartley and Jhordan Mayo were elected King and Queen at the football game Friday evening.
“It was the greatest success of Spirit Week since I’ve been here,” Smith said.
