Gulay “Angie” Brandli, 67, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away at 8:38 p.m., on Thursday, December 28, 2017, in the Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital as a result of injuries sustained when she was struck by a vehicle while walking in her neighborhood.
She was born in Izmir, Turkey, on January 28, 1950, and had three siblings: Gunai Solcum, Shani Solcum, and Eriy Solcum.
On November 18, 1983, she married Thomas Stewart Brandli and they celebrated 21 years of marriage before his passing on October 6, 2005.
Her kind, compassionate spirit will be dearly missed by her son, Jonathan M. Brandli, of Washington, D.C.
Angie was a loving and devoted homemaker, an avid Master Gardener who won awards for her beautiful landscaping, a skilled seamstress who often designed formal wear including wedding gowns, a talented decorator who was the envy of her friends, an angel of service who always knew when someone needed help, and an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed walking in her condominium community. The outpouring of love and support from her community in response to this sad and tragic loss has been heartwarming.
Friends and family gathered for Visitation at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Rd., in Jane Lew, WV, from 12 – 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Funeral Services followed at 1 p.m., at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Coffindaffer officiating. Interment will follow in the Broad Run Cemetery in Jane Lew.
