The City of Weston, has a new police cruiser on the road as of Wednesday, Jan. 25.
The cruiser was obtained via a grant from the USDA, for more than half of the funding according to Weston Mayor Julia Spelsberg.
“There was a great need for reliable vehicles for the police,” said Spelsberg.
“The Weston Police Department is happy to have the new car in service to replace the aging patrol vehicles, that were currently in use by the department. The patrol vehicle that was replaced was 11 years old. The new car will also help the City as it will relieve some of the burden of repair costs associated with the aging vehicles,” said Chief of Police Josh Thomas.
