Gerald “Jerry” Dale Lamb, 77, of Keith Fork Rd., Weston, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, September 30, 2017.
He was born in Lewis County on April 5, 1940, a son of the late Charles Burl Lamb and Sarah Lamb.
On September 13, 1971, he married Helen Gay Butcher and they celebrated 39 years of marriage before her passing on April 23, 2011.
He leaves behind a large family to carry on his legacy, including eight children: Dave Lamb and wife, Andi, of Jane Lew, John Lamb and wife, Anna, of Weston, Todd Lamb of Weston, Bobbi Radcliff and husband, Brent, of Weston, Kay Butcher and husband, Jim, of Jane Lew, Jill Stutler of Weston, Susie Johnston of Weston, and Robin Stout of Weston; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one brother, Bill Lamb and wife, Carolyn, of Alum Bridge, son-in-law, Mike Jones of Jane Lew; several nieces and nephews; and his loyal companion, House Cat.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by nine siblings: Jack, Ronald, Harold, Bob, Orval, and Charles Lamb, Norma Jackson, JoAnn Burkhammer, and Eileen Bailey; and one daughter, Dee Jones.
Jerry was a strong, hard working dozer operator most of his life. He was young-at-heart and enjoyed riding side-by-sides (Back Road Ridin’ with Mud Flyin’), fishing, hanging out at“Camp Almost”with the guys, watching westerns, and spending time with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
Friends and family gathered at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service, at 144 Hackers Creek Rd., in Jane Lew, from 4-8 p.m., on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday at Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow at the Rock Grove Cemetery.
