George “Willie” Spicer

George “Willie” Spicer, 71, of Long Run Road, Salem, departed this life on Friday, May 12, in his residence. 
He was born in Lewis County on April 3, 1946, a son of the late Jack and Opal Lattea Spicer.  On December 27, 2016, he married Donna Davis Spicer who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Karrie Lynn Hamrick, Misty Merrfield both of Fairmont. Two granddaughters Ayla Golden, Amiah Merrfield and sister-in-law Charlotte Spicer, Salem. Mr. Spicer was preceded in death by his brother Jack Spicer.
Mr. Spicer had worked for the Federal Government-Navy Department.  He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed cooking and playing pool. Willie enjoyed being around people, never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need.
