Franklin Dewaine Vincent, 74, of Lost Creek, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018, in the comfort of his home.
He was born on July 16, 1943, in Everetsville, WV, a son of the late Floyd Thomas Vincent and Lillie Mae Martin Vincent.
On February 27, 1965, he married the love of his life, Florence “Grace” Boggs, who will miss him dearly.
His survivors include three children: Marcia Corder and husband, Michael, of Grafton, Elaine Kohl and husband, Sean, of White Oak, TX, and Franklin D. Vincent Jr. and wife, Kimberly, of Greenville, SC; nine grandchildren: Amanda Maxwell, Jesseca Smalley, Kelsey McDaniel, Amber Moser, Alissa Vincent, Megan, Victoria and Levi Kohl, and Karleigh Isaman; eight great-grandchildren: Ethan Maxwell, Tyler and Kaje Lyons, Joshua, Corder and Whitaker Smalley, Kyan Bolyard, and John Tyler Moser; three brothers: John Thomas Vincent of Jane Lew, Herbert Vincent and wife, Mary Alice, of Bridgeport, and William Vincent and wife, Rebecca, of Grafton, WV; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Vincent of Jane Lew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Lee Vincent.
Franklin graduated from Shinnston in 1961. Then he moved to Washington, D.C., where he worked for HUD. After moving back to Weston, he was employed at J.C. Hitt and Auto Body. Finally, he retired from Jenkins Collision Repair Center in Buckhannon, WV. Franklin enjoyed fishing and playing music with his brother Jerry.
Franklin’s request for cremation has been honored. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
