Francis Andrew Cogar, age 47, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Cornerstone Hospice Care Center in Orlando, Florida.
He was born on May 15, 1970, in Weston, West Virginia, the youngest son of the late Wallace (Bud) and Hilda (Singleton) Cogar.
He is survived by his loving partner, Sean Halerz, with whom he made his home in Longwood, Florida, along with his two dogs, Nina and Lilly.
Also surviving: two brothers, Wally (Judy) Cogar and Terry (Donna) Cogar of Weston; a sister, Tammy (Todd) Rovello, of Bridgeport, West Virginia; four nephews: Eric Brice, Adam and Dustin Cogar; three nieces: Theresa Cogar Turner and Stephanie and Victoria Rovello; seven great nephews: Brett, Mason, Jacksen, Landry, Brady, Reece and Hendrix; four great nieces: Emma, Kaelyn, Addyson and Sophia. All will dearly miss their “Uncle Francis.”
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Morgan and Emma Singleton, and Hazel and Tom Golden.
Francis was a graduate of Lewis County High School. He attended West Virginia University before obtaining his business degree from Coastal Carolina College.
His work at Top Insurance Companies had him traveling coast to coast and living in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Atlanta, Georgia, before landing his “dream job” at Walt Disney Productions as a Senior Claims Analyst, in Orlando, Florida.
Following his request of cremation, a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 8, 2017. In Gem, WV, at the family farm, followed by a luncheon at the Holiday Inn Express in Weston, from 1-3 p.m.
