Food Handlers Cards a Must For Many

The Lewis County Health Department (LCHD) would like to remind everyone that, if they are working at a restaurant, special event or any non-profit fundraising organizations, and are handling food in any way, that they must have a valid and updated food handler’s card.
This includes anyone that prepares or handles food in any capacity. The test is given Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., at the LCHD.
The study guide is available at the LCHD or on Facebook, which can be found by typing in Lewis County Health Department.
If anyone has any questions, please call the Lewis County Health Department at (304) 269-8218.
Food vendors who plan on participating in any of the fairs or festivals, please contact the Health Department for your permit.
Statewide or local cards are available.
Testing is available at www.statefoodsafety.com.  Questions concerning Food Handler testing please contact the LCHD at 304-269-8218, or stop by at 125 Court Ave. Hours of operation 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
