Donald Lee Bowers, 40, of Napier, was arrested and charged with strangulation, on Aug. 30, by an officer with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department.
According to the criminal complaint, the officer responded to a domestic disturbance call on Hacker’s Creek Road, in Jane Lew.
The complaint alleges that Bowers “grabbed the victim by the throat and began choking her to a point where she could not breathe,” during an argument over “Subutex pills.”
The complaint also alleges that Bowers slapped the victim across the face when she attempted to flee and said “[Expletive], you’re not going anywhere, by the time anyone gets here, you will be in ICU [Intensive Care Unit].”
Bowers was arrested and transported to Central Regional Jail, where he is currently being held in lieu of a $40,000 surety/cash bond.
