The Lewis County Farmer’s Market opened at its new location on May 12, at the St. Patrick Church parking lot.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at 10 a.m., with Lewis County Commissioners Rod Wyman and Agnes Queen present, along with Delegate Patrick Martin (R-46) and Lewis County Chamber of Commerce Director Sherry Rogers.
Delegate Martin spoke, saying how good it is to have this type of small business in Lewis County, and Queen spoke, as well, adding what a benefit it adds to the community.
Rachel Fisher and Colby Brake were present, selling handmade jewelry and gifts.
Brake, who is the son of Jerry Brake of Rt. 18 Farm Market, also a vendor, said they plan to sell produce every week, with novelties once a month. Brake and Fisher are building a home in Troy. Route 18 Farm Market was selling produce next to Brake and Fisher.
The Farmer’s Market will be open every Saturday from now until Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
