Many people came out on this past Saturday and enjoyed the Annual Fall Fest hosted by Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum (TALA).
This year’s event featured dozens of vendors, that offered many items such as fall decorations, art, jewelry, perfume, clothing, and food.
Throughout the day many different contests and events were scheduled. Children and families participated in decorating pumpkins, as well as other arts and crafts, and a little later in the day a children’s costume contest was held. Around 30 kids participated and awards were given in many categories. A stage was also set up for both children and adults interested in competing in a karaoke contest. Winners of all the events received tickets to one of the hospital’s tours or attractions.
Just a little before dark there was a campfire where folks set around and enjoyed the stories being told. Daytime tours were given of the historical landmark and people also had the opportunity to participate in Zombie Paintball.
Later that night TALA hosted its adult costume contest and another night of scares took place at the “Hospital of Horrors,” this year’s haunted house attraction.
This was the second weekend for TALA’s annual haunted house and it will continue until Nov. 3.
