Evelyn Frances Lake Marsh, 77, of Copley Road, Weston passed away at 7:23 p.m., on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in the River Oaks Nursing Home in Clarksburg following an extended illness.
She was born in Upshur County on June 6, 1940, a daughter of the late Lorenza Dowell Lake and Dessie Anne Bailey Lake.
On June 11, 1955, she married Delbert Charles Marsh and they celebrated 55 years of marriage before his passing on September 1, 2010.
She is survived by six children: Brenda Lou Sprouse of Jane Lew, Valery Frances Johnson of Copley, Gary Wayne Marsh of Weston, Anna Jo Chambers of OH, Dennis Marsh of Buckhannon, and Troy Marsh of Bendale; eight grandchildren: Vincent, Zackery, Tyler, Chris, Rachel, James, Ryan, and Heather; four great grandchildren: Isaac, Zoey, Zeke, and Addison; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Charles Wesley Marsh; and seven siblings: Andrew, Ralph, Robert, Arthur, and Robert Lake, and Jean Keener.
Evelyn was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading the bible, working puzzles, and spending time with her family.
Friends and family gathered at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Rd., in Jane Lew, from 11 a.m. -12 p.m., on Saturday, July 15, 2017. A Graveside Service followed at 12:15 p.m., at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Jane Lew with Reverend Wease Day officiating.
