Edward L. Smith, 74, of Buckhannon, WV, died Sunday, February 4, 2018, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV.
He was born June 20, 1943, in Lewis County, WV, a son of the late William and Mary Lee Queen Smith.
On August 31, 1988, he married Carol Clemson who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Stephen Smith of Jane Lew, WV and Johnny Lee Riley and Adam D. Brumley both of Buckhannon; three daughters, Stephanie Abrahamson and husband Tim, Emily D. Brumley of Urbana, OH and Holly A. Riley and partner Christine Bender of Buckhannon; five special grandchildren, Aiden, Gavin and Riley Bender of Buckhannon and Kyle and Chelsea Riley of Elkins, WV, and one sister Robin Light and husband Jerry of Weston, WV.
Mr. Smith was a mechanic and retired from both Moore Business Forms and Trus Joist MacMillan. He also retired from the Army National Guard after 24 years of service.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Moose Lodge #598, was an avid bowler, NASCAR fan and loved to go fishing with his kids and grandkids.
Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Thursday, February 8, 2018, from 5-9 p.m.. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow at the Weston Masonic Cemetery in Weston, WV.
