Donations pile up for LUACF

The Second Annual “Halligan’s Drive to Make a Difference” was a success, according to Weston Fire Department Assistant Chief Keith Talbert.
All items collected were donated to the Lewis-Upshur Animal Control Facility in Buckhannon.
A total of items donated were 60 collars, four harnesses, 60 leashes, 10 gallons of bleach, 20 pounds of bleach wipes, numerous toys, blankets, and waterfowls, 60 cans of wet cat food, two pounds of cat treats, 326 pounds of dry cat food, 149 pounds of cat litter, 44 cans of wet dog food, 667 pounds of dry dog food, and 47 pounds of dog treats.
Other holiday activities to help the less fortunate included the 32nd-Annual Christmas Dinner at the Lewis County Senior Center, Santa Claus delivered Hershey’s chocolate bars to children in Jane Lew with help from the Jane Lew Volunteer Fire Department, and members of the Pricetown Volunteer Fire Department delivered gifts to children in their coverage area.
